GREATER PADUCAH SUSTAINABILITY PROJECT:

Recycling is important to us, and our environment. We happily support GPS Paducah, and their recycling efforts. GPS Paducah helps many schools and other nonprofit agencies in the area by offering free recycling. We donate old technology that is unsafe for landfills for our clients to GPS in addition to providing financial support.

The Marshall County High School TSA is the only organization of students wholly dedicated to technology education. Students involved with this organization get hands-on learning experiences with various fields of technology. We assisted with funding a scholarship for one outstanding TSA senior.

AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY RELAY FOR LIFE:

As the battle against cancer has taken many of our friends and family members, this is an important cause to us. Relay For Life is a celebration of those who have survived cancer, a remembrance of those who have been lost to cancer and a commitment to keep fighting to end cancer, all wrapped up in a carnival type atmosphere that features events for the entire family. We participate in fund raising events for both Marshall & McCracken County Relay for Life, as well as attend the celebration events within our counties.

PURCHASE AREA SEXUAL ASSAULT CENTER:

The Purchase Area Sexual Assault & Child Advocacy Center is non-profit organization that has been providing direct services to victims of crimes since 1987. As the regionally designated rape crisis center and child advocacy center by the state of Kentucky’s Cabinet for Health and Family Services, the Center serves the eight county Purchase Area Region of western Kentucky by providing free and confidential aid to all ages of victims of sexual crimes. SmartPath Technologies routinely treats the entire staff to the annual “Men who can cook” PASAC fundraiser.

ST. JUDE CHILDREN’S RESEARCH HOSPITAL

A story close to our hearts-St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is internationally recognized for its pioneering research and treatment of children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases. Ranked one of the best pediatric cancer hospitals in the country, St. Jude is the first and only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center devoted solely to children. Kristy’s little cousin, Sara, has personally benefited from life saving cancer treatments as an infant at St. Jude. Every year we purchase a ticket for the Dream Home.

Volunteerism

At SmartPath Technologies, we encourage our employees to make an impact in our local neighborhoods by volunteering their time, talents and expertise.
During Paducah’s Annual BBQ on the River, several of our employees donate their time to help charities such as: Upwards Basketball at Reidland Baptist, The Graves Co YMCA, Martha’s Vineyard and more.

Our owner, Willie Kerns, is on the Calvert City Volunteer Fire Department, as well as a board member of the Jackson Purchase Firefighters Association. Willie is very active in the community and also serves on the Calvert City Board of Adjustments.

As children have a special place in Willie’s heart, he also has volunteered his time to Junior Achievement of West Kentucky. JA offers numerous classroom-based programs, delivered to the students by volunteers during the school day, to implement work-readiness and financial literacy programs to educate and train our students in skills they need to be your future prepared employees.
